You will be covering between Bristol and Birmingham, so access to the M5, or a base around Gloucester or Cheltenham areas would be ideal.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be working as part of our team to ensure our customer sites located between Bristol and Birmingham  are running smoothly on a day-to-day basis.

 

What are the day-to-day duties of a Field Service Engineer?

Our Service Engineers have an overall responsibility for

  • Hands on servicing and repair of water treatment equipment.
  • Undertaking scheduled servicing and one-off planned services outside of contract
  • Repair of customer equipment
  • Installation of new equipment where repair is not possible or viable.

 

What will you be involved in?

  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
  • Adhere to customer site rules and procedures
  • Attention to proactive KPI’s and personal safety plans
  • Be familiar with and comply with EQUIPMENT SERVICE processes
  • Confirm technical and contractual scoping on site matches assigned work.
  • Undertake planned and unplanned service activity
  • Perform routine maintenance work including chemical sanitisation when required.
  • Minimise customer down time by effectively planning and executing the work
  • Deliver and install new equipment (parts)
  • Test and commission all work prior to leaving the work-site
  • Explain and demonstrate correct use of equipment if necessary
  • Ensure Customer sign-off of work prior to leaving site
  • Report activity on tablet
  • Promote Service contracts where necessary and report back new opportunities to line manager
  • Maintain spare parts car stock and up to date records of parts held/used
  • Keep all tools in good condition
  • Focusing on how we can decrease cost of operation, improve operating efficiency, minimise Environmental, Health and Safety issues, and enhance customer competitive advantage

 

What are the hours?

This is a Monday to Friday day time role.

You will need to be able to work at weekends as/when required and willing to be on call for out of hours emergency work which we operate on a rota system. Additional hours and on call hours are paid at additional rates.
 

What experience and skills would you need?

  • Previous Equipment Service experience in an Electro-mechanical environment, ideally in the water treatment sector.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Logical and well organized
  • Able to work alone with minimum supervision
  • Full UK driving licence
