Extrusion Operative

Main responsibilities
• To support the manufacturing operations by resolving more in- depth process-related issues and implementing recipe or plant modifications
• To be responsible for problem solving and other investigations that require extrusion process expertise and detailed plastics processing knowledge.
• To provide plastic process engineering knowledge to trouble shoot and optimise extrusion line processes
• To liaise with other site functions to resolve engineering issues related to safety, environmental impact and product quality.

Candidate skills / qualifications
• Previous operational experience as a machinery operator from a plastics processing background is essential, experience of extrusion or compounding is an advantage
• In depth understanding of plastic extrusion process, including using additives and blends to construct bespoke recipes.
• Previous experience of participation in formal Quality Assurance schemes
• Ability to help meet agreed production targets and communicate process challenges & improvements to colleagues and management.
• Flexibility in working shift patterns
