Salary: £42,000 – £51,600 per year

European Health & Safety Manager

Based: Liverpool

Reports to: Head of Operations

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

* Implement, review and update the Companies Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures

* Develop Health, Safety and Environmental systems designed to drive a positive safety culture across the European business

* Ensure all Health Safety and Environmental guidelines are being adhered to in our European sites

* Provide regular update and communications to all levels within the business

* Develop and deliver Health, Safety and Environmental training programs that will include a safety induction process

* Liaise between the technical and operational teams to ensure we meet statutory requirements in both handling and usage of the raw materials utilised in the manufacturing process

* Lead person managing any statutory inspections or audits across European business

* Ensure that incidents and accidents are investigated and maintain records producing monthly statistics on accidents, incidents and near misses

* Manage the H&S committee ensuring regular review meeting are held with minutes and actions circulated to key stakeholders

Key requirements are:

– A passion and love of what you do

– Strong teamwork skills are essential

– Previous experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing background would be preferred but not essential

– Qualification in occupational health and safety, such as, NVQ, and/or NEBOSH national diploma is required

– IT literate and a comprehensive understanding of Windows based programmes to include Word, Excel and Outlook is essential

– Lead by setting a personal example and actively promote at all levels the company’s commitment to effective Health and Safety

– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

This role is initially part time (3 days per week) potentially leading to a full time position

Some travel between Liverpool, Northampton and Poland will be required

Salary is negotiable depending on experience

24 days annual holiday offered (including shutdown at Christmas each year as standard).
