Job Description: Health and Safety Manager
Location: Burton Latimer, NN15
Salary: Up to £42,000per annum
Our Client are looking for a hands on HS Manager to be based out of the large distribution hub based in Burton Latimer.
* To manage all Health and Safety aspects of the site to ensure the depot is a safe environment in which to work and all employees comply with Health and Safety procedures.
* To develop and implement safe working practices for all areas within the site in conjunction with the management team to minimise accidents and claims.
* To impose and maintain agreed high standards of health and safety in all areas within the site.
* To work as part of a flexible team to ensure high levels of service are achieved ensure all new starters within the department are aware of their overall responsibilities with regards to the environment.
* You will challenge poor and promote good health and safety and environmental practices leading by example encouraging colleague’s performance in any given role and process
* You will use as part of your duty any systems, equipment and methods including computer related software as may be introduced to further the performance of your duty. Accept new systems, methods and technology together with associated training.
* To provide clear instruction to Health & Safety staff within remit, of environmental responsibilities required and challenge any lapse in procedures where necessary.
* Lead internal auditor
* BRC Administrator, responsible for updating and maintaining the BRC processes
* Ensuring personal hygiene and hygiene quality are maintained to manage and develop a food safety strategy on site, monitoring food safety procedures, collating records, auditing and training colleagues.
* To manage environmental initiatives on site in line with ISO standards and maintain and exceed standards achieved.
* Working closely with the central food safety team and regulatory affairs department to minimize the impact of any food safety risk.
