I am currently looking to recruit an Estimator with a civil engineering background. The main purpose of the position will be the preparation of estimates and the submitting of proposals to clients.

Candidates must be able to, identify potential issues and communicate what future problems could affect/impact on cost. The ideal candidate will have previously worked for a civil engineering contractor and have priced on works such as: Earthworks, Drainage, Concrete, and Remediation.

My clients company was formed in 60’s and the turnover and client base have steadily increased with each trading year. The management team and workforce have been with the company for more than 10 years and they build upon this reliability and commitment to deliver continuity to clients.

The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following qualifications / experience / aptitude:

* Successfully plan and execute programs of works from initial enquiry to hand over
* Ensure adequate resource planning for a direct and indirect work force
* Input into tender/bid process ensuring cost effective mobilisation and build strong client relationships
* Complete all necessary H&S paperwork
* Have financial control over numerous electrical contracts
* Complete electrical surveys, work in progress and final inspection sign-off visits ensuing at all times that all works have been complete to the client/tenants satisfaction
* Manage existing contracts as well as develop new
* Collate and authorise time-sheets and deal with any staffing issues on site
* To identify improvements to working practices and adopt ‘best practice’ within the business to maximize profitability

Qualifications:

* Civil Engineering background

* HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering/Estimating/Quantity Surveying
