My client is a world leader in the design, manufacture, installation, and management of process plant for Surface Treatment, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Process Water Recycling.
The Engineering Estimator will report into the Head of Sales and will be tasked with estimation and proposal writing.

Job Description
Engineering Estimator

• Preparing detailed cost estimates of all plant elements and assembling these into a total project costing for major capital plant; minor capital plant; modifications and upgrades; spares; and service.
• Costing of the individual items for inclusion in detailed estimates
• Prepare project costings by analysing 2D drawings/3D models, product specifications, scope, basis of design and other project information as input.
• Maintenance of project estimates and supporting backup documentation for reference during contract execution.
• Supports the evaluation of historical company data, including purchase orders, subcontracts, engineering productivity reports and incorporate relevant data into company unit costs, materials and labour factors.
• Assisting the sales team in the creation of quotations, proposals 
• Maintaining electronics record of detailed project costings
• Assisting the sales team in maintaining the company CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) system and other general sales administration systems.
• Creating and maintaining relationships with new and existing suppliers to ensure effective information gathering and exchange throughout pre-sales processes
• Liaising with suppliers where necessary to obtain price, availability, and product information in a timely manner.
• Playing an important role in the development of standardised methods, tools and documentation, to improve cost estimation and proposal production in a timely manner to our customers.

Qualifications/ Experience/Skills

• 3 years in an engineering role involving costing/estimation practices
• Proficient using Microsoft Excel
• Ability to read 2D manufacturing drawings and manipulate 3D solid models to gather information for costing purposes.
