Trainee Proposals Engineer / Proposals Engineer

My client a leading engineering manufacturer based in Norfolk is seeking a Trainee Proposals Engineer to join their sales team.

Although an electrical or engineering background would be beneficial, full training will be provided and for the right candidate and progression is possible to a Sales Engineer level.

Duties/Responsibilities:

You will be expected to learn and understand the full product range including full certification
To understand and work with our internal proposal design sheet calculations and costing sheet
Compile quotations and review customer specifications and requirements
Resolve technical queries with customers
You will be familiar with and understand technical drawings
Negotiating sales orders
Monitor quotation progress with customers
Carry out routine proposal/project follow up’s
Manage and update CRM database
Investigate new customer potential
Develop existing customer business
Ensure all quotations meet customer requirements and comply with all specifications and regulations
Review customers purchase orders, T&C’s and payment terms prior to acceptance Skills/Experience:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated and result driven
Good organisation skills and able to multitask
The ability to work well in a team environment, within a busy sales office
Thrive and work well under pressure
Prepared to work hard and meet tight deadlines
Good numeric ability
Sales experience including customer contact
Excellent computer skills (Word, Access, Excel, Powerpoint)Additional skills/experience which would be an advantage
