Estimator / Proposals Engineer

Overview
A great opportunity for a suitably qualified Assistant Proposals Engineer to estimate costs, prepare quotations for technical projects in the water treatment/waste water/civils sector. Office based position.

Company
One of the UK’s leading SME manufacturers and suppliers or GRP products for the water/wastewater industry, for the UK, and its export markets. Project range from small one-off projects, to large orders to the value of several hundred thousand. Ample support and training will be provided.

Job
Production of estimates and full quotations from information provided by the technical design team, sales team and customers.
Preparation of and administration of quotation and tender documents.
Negotiating with suppliers for bought in items, materials/component purchasing.
Working with another team member to develop a new suite of documents and worksheets for estimating proposal and contract operations.
Liaising with customers, in-house staff in design, purchasing, and any other relevant stakeholders.

Experience Required
Minimum HNC in Civil Engineering/Environmental Engineering, or any other qualification where knowledge has been gained on drainage, wastewater, civils type projects.
An understanding of drainage, waste water treatment, utility design, underground services design.
Be able to understand technical documentation within this field e.g. civil, material, mechanical and electrical systems.
Experience of producing estimates or quotes desirable, but training in this area will be given for a candidate with the relevant.
The position is office based, so a good level of IT skills will be required in MS Office, as you will be producing technical documentation to tight schedules.

Remuneration
Maximum salary as stated for someone with experience.
Graduates with a relevant degree in Civil Engineering will be considered.
