They now have an opportunity available for an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join them to facilitate the provision of a safe working environment that is non-polluting.

Leading the company’s health and safety vision by communicating effectively the safety rules for the site, you must promote a culture of safety first in all areas by driving the right behaviours of employees and site visitors and develop safe systems of work from risk assessments and implement safety behavioural methods of work. Liaising with other sites to implement a companywide EHSQ strategy, you must manage the QA lab and the daily tasks performed there and apply continuous improvement techniques to drive performance improvement.

With experience of working within a similar role, you will possess the ability to work pro-actively, efficiently and accurately, able to prioritise your workload and work on your own initiative. You should have good knowledge of the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001, BS OHSAS 18001 and BS EN ISO 14001 Management Systems and also EN494, and you will hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.

Although not essential, it would be beneficial if you had experience in conducting quality audits and held an Internal Auditors Certificate or similar qualification. Those with an understanding of LEAN tools, particularly 5S+ are also considered desirable.
