ENGINEERING SERVICES MANAGER – CLIENT DIRECT – INTERNATIONAL BANK – UP TO 65K

One of the largest and most recognised banks in the City of London are currently looking to recruit an Engineering Services Manager to manage all electrical and mechanical services within their large blue chip office.

The main duties of the role are as follows:

Control of all mechanical and electrical services, together with management of all associated engineering contracts.
Control of all building services, infrastructure, maintenance and repairs.
Project management of any building refurbishment projects.
Ensure that all plant, back up and monitoring systems are maintained in good functioning order at all times, including the testing of all essential systems on a regular basis and in accordance with any relevant legislation.
Control of trouble-shooting engineering support.
Day to day support and adjustment of infrastructure as required, including liaison with user groups, preparation of documentation for changes, approved appointment of contractors and site supervision.
Control and management of all relevant budgets.
Control of all relevant outsourced contracts.
Ensure all procedures are adhered to by all relevant contractors and in accordance with current legislation.
Assume full responsibility for the preparation of tender documents/benchmarking exercise for all relevant contracts.
Ensure frequent checks are carried out to ensure cost effectiveness against market trends and that value for money is realised for all services.
Chair regular update meetings with all contract managers relevant to services provided.
Undertake any ad-hoc support as directed by Head of Dept.

Applicants for this role must be able to meet the following criteria:

Ideally BSc CEng or alternatively electrically or mechanically qualified to a recognised level.
Previous experience in management position.
Basic awareness/knowledge of property/lease matters with specific focus on dilapidations.
Familiarisation of Licence to Alter process.
Knowledge of BREEAM and other environmental certification schemes.
Knowledge of Carbon Reduction Commitment.
Knowledge of BMS systems and the ability to operate.
Strong communication skills.
Awareness of market conditions.
Ability to work under pressure.
Strong negotiator.
Commitment to out of hour’s availability.
