ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit an Engineering Manager with immediate effect for our client based in the Wisbech area.
FMCG experience would be advantageous.
Engineering Manager
The role requires liaison with all departments to ensure product safety, quality and legal compliance. Taking a hands-on role in the management of the team.
The Engineering Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient running of all machinery and equipment on site. Providing general maintenance across the site, installing, and implementing new machinery.
Duties:
- To maintain efficient production of all the company products by ensuring all machinery is well maintained.
- Responding to breakdown calls and production demands.
- To constantly seek new ways to improve the plants efficiency and cost effectiveness without impacting safety of self or others.
- Assisting with factory trials (when required)
- To oversee the maintenance and servicing of the factory production lines to minimise down times and maximise the efficiency.
- Being responsible for informing the HACCP Team Leader of all planned changes that may have an impact on current HACCP studies.
- Managing the PPMs for the site and any action is completed in a timely fashion.
- Dealing with all the general contractors that come on site.
- Issuing work permits and giving site inductions to the general contractors
- Monitoring the usage of the sites electric, gas, water and oil
- Ensuring all machinery is to a high working level and is safe to use at all times.
- Maintaining equipment used in the effluent plant.
- Overseeing the ammonia plant and dealing with the contractors of the ammonia plant.
- Working with steam boilers
- Dealing with all Engineering invoices, purchase orders and suppliers
- Oversee daily job card and management of job card register
