Emergency Call Handler – Part Time

The role

To provide a consistently safe, responsive and patient-focused service to those requiring assistance and information from Urgent Care Services.

To receive contacts by telephone and other means from members of the public and healthcare professionals requesting medical assistance and advice; to assess risk and patients’ needs and dispatch Clinical Advisors where appropriate.

Listening skills and attention to detail are imperative in this role.

Main duties and responsibilities

Receive telephone calls and other contacts from members of the public and healthcare professionals requiring assistance and information.
Handle all calls and contacts courteously, efficiently and in a way that best meets the immediate needs of the patient.
Operate all telephony and IT hardware and software as directed by the role requirements.
Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of all patient and trust information at all times.

You will receive 3 weeks of training before entering the customer service floor and we are able to accommodate both part-time and full-time hours including evenings and weekends.

Starting salary will be £26,000(part time pro rata)+ unsociable hours enhancement of 20%, 40% and 80%. Following a successful probation period the salary will move to £16,800.
