Embedded Software Team Lead C/C++, Java – Team leadership role working with a market leader in industrial controls in an agile environment to lead a team of engineers in an embedded environment. You will lead the team in every respect from design architecture, product design, QA and test in this highly technical full lifecycle role working with teams skilled in embedded C, C++ and Java.

The Role

This role will see you managing small teams of experienced engineers identifying, designing, developing and releasing systems for the process automation markets, the core technologies will be in embedded software development.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for the definition and delivery of software/hardware products, sub-systems and technology components.

The role will involve working closely with other internal groups, outsourcers and technology suppliers. Strong communications and an ability to build a strong team across geographic and cultural boundaries will be essential skills.

*Exceptional experience leading a technical team including product design, coaching, QA, Project management and Technical support.
*Experience leading in an Agile environment.
*Hands on technical experience with C++ inheritance, virtual functions and abstract base classes.
*Experience working in a regulated industry (IEC, ISO, MISRA, DO-178 or equivalent)

Desirable Skills

While not essential it would be useful for applicants to have experience with some or all of the following skills:

*Java equivalents of the above C++ skills
*Multithreaded software experience, interrupts, Semaphores, Deadly Embrace, Priority Inversion, I/O devices.
*Understanding of control systems
*A good understanding of HCI (Human Computer Interaction)
*Control Algorithm experience
*Understanding of Support packages, Embedded Debug tools
*Good Knowledge of Networking and Comms protocols.
