Electronic Product Buyer

Position: Advanced Purchasing Buyer (Electronic)

Our Client; a hugely successful globally operating Tier 1 Automotive supplier specialising in the manufacture and supply of high technology electronic/electrical components seek an experienced Advanced Purchasing Buyer to look after OEM Electronics projects. This role is offered on a permanent basis and is available with immediate effect. The remuneration package available is, to an extent, negotiable and will be based upon relevant experience.

This position is to be based at my Clients Offices in Warwickshire; but will require regular visits to their other facility in the Home Counties.

Reporting to the European Purchasing Manager based in Cologne, Germany, your role responsibilities will include the following:
-Overall responsibility of Purchasing Project Management of Supply Chain Management tasks and deliverables.
-Regular monitoring and follow-up of Supply Chain Task deliverables and its status during the entire project stages.
-Frequent reporting of Supply Management related tasks by conducting regular project reviews and attending functional review meetings.
-Periodically reporting on Project Material Cost status and achieved Cost Avoidance Performance using the established Supply Management templates and tools.
-KPI contribution – systematically contribute to the overall achievement of all assigned Advanced Purchasing KPI’s such as Cost Avoidance Status.
-Manage and support all assigned OEM RFQ’s including all necessary supplier RFQ as well as ASL data maintenance activities.
-Primary Supply Management interface towards sales and engineering including regular customer visits.

Experience and Qualifications required:
-Ideally a Degree in Commercial Engineering or a Business Administration Degree or equivalent Automotive experience.
-Should ideally possess experience of working as an Electronic/Electrical Products Buyer / Project Buyer or Commodity Buyer; better still with knowledge of Automotive Electronic Modules (instrument cluster etc). An experienced Automotive Buyer with a mechanical product background may also be considered.
-Automotive Project/Commodity Business experience required.
-Multi-year Automotive Purchasing, Engineering or Project Management skills needed.
-Strong PC skills.
-Willingness to travel UK and overseas on occasion.
-Any other language skills would be a bonus, but this is not essential.
