My client is currently looking for an experienced ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER for their manufacturing site in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
THE ROLE:
As a multi-skilled maintenance engineer you will be electrically biased and will be involved in all pre planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, breakdowns and repairs of the machinery in the plant.
You will get involved in both electrical and mechanical work as well completing various projects, upgrades and modification work.
Mechanically the engineer will need some understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, belts, bearings and chains.
Electrically the maintenance engineer will need to be able to work on 3 phase electrics, motors and invertors.
The ability to work on PLC’s will be an advantage, you will need to come from a manufacturing, background and hold an electrical qualification preferable to the latest addition.
You must be a team player, have a good level of general fitness, capable of working at heights when required, and have the ability to work unsupervised in a safe manner.
THE PERSON:
- Design, Promote and Carry out Preventative Maintenance
- Ensure all machines are safe and fit for purpose
- Installation of new machines and equipment as required
- Overhaul and upkeep and repair of all plant machines.
- Review and Advise on Engineering requirements and drawings
- Work with large hydraulic systems
- Work with chemical processing equipment
- Work with and Coordinate Contractors
- Undertake repairs and servicing to the highest standard in accordance with work requests and pre-determined specifications
- Fault Finding, testing, and the removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures and parts
- Where a detailed specification is not provided determine the cause of the fault and then undertake the most cost-effective solution to remedy the defect
- Effective Communication keeping Management and relevant parties aware and seeking advice and assistance when required.
- Cherry picker licence – preferable (training will be given)
- High voltage work (training will be given)
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Recognised maintenance / engineering apprenticeship
- City & Guilds / ONC in electrical engineering
- A background in heavy industrial machinery would be advantageous.
- Electrical bias with mechanical knowledge
- Experience of hydraulic presses, electrical heated ovens, compressors, and chemical process lines, fault finding and rectification
- Capable of using a PC using Excel & Word to write up maintenance information
- A-C GCSE Level or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Health & Safety Training.
- Working at heights training
Hours: 37 hours per week – (Mon – Thu 7:00am – 4.45pm)
Dayshift working predominantly but must be prepared to work shifts, work overtime and respond to call outs as required in line with the remit of the post.
