Electrical Design Engineer

Salary: £48,000 – £60,000 per year

Continued growth of an already healthy order book has created an Electrical Design Engineer / EDS Engineer position within the engineering department of this Construction Vehicle Manufacturer on the outskirts of Manchester.

Role:

Electrical Design Engineer – responsible for designing electrical circuits and harnesses as well as being able to model the harness routings using 3D CAD packages such as AutoCAD Electrical, VeSys or Zuken. The harness and schematic design are done using 2D software.

As the electrical engineering specialist, you will be interpreting circuit drawings and converting them into harness drawings paying particular attention to specifics such as wire sizing, fuse & relays, splicing positions, connector types, protection, & earthing.

Once the harnesses are designed you may build small prototype harnesses and test / repair harnesses, combining your knowledge of electrical components and how best to install them to minimise interference once on the vehicle.

You:

Experienced Electrical Design Engineer, EDS Engineer or Harness Design Engineer with project exposure ideally gained on specialist vehicles. For example, on bus, coach & truck vehicles or within the off-highway sector including but not limited to agricultural machinery, construction, & military vehicles.

Confident communicator able to collaborate with international teams on shared projects. Good report writing skills able to convey accurate detail to an international audience.
