Electrical Commissioning Management Associate Director – Data Centres -London or Europe £80k to £100k plus benefits
A superb opportunity has arisen to work for one of Europe’s leading Building Services Commissioning Management consultancies based out of London. The role requires someone who has a solid track record in M&E Commissioning Management and has a good background with Data Centre projects. The role requires someone who has excellent client facing skills and who is willing to travel every week to various different client sites across Europe.
This is to look after a major prestigious account and we require someone who is hands on. You will be required to knock up commissioning plans and programme the jobs to pass on to your team to do the hands on work.
JOB HOLDER’S PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
The primary objective of the key account lead is to see that the processes involved in the commissioning of engineering services systems have been diligently and accurately planned, managed, executed, recorded and reported to our client.
To maintain extensive day to day contact with the client senior team including project managers, Operational and Design Directors, providing status updates as required – at least on a weekly basis.
The role also involves
1. Seeing that our commitments to our clients are delivered on time to requisite levels of detail and quality.
2. Acting as a key point of client contact
3. Providing fee proposals for new projects in line with agreed pricing model
4. Making full use of the company’s management systems in achieving the primary objective.
5. To take responsibility for project related safety
6. Encourage project engineers to achieve a high level of performance.
7. Report any performance problems to the Operations Director
8. Review on a monthly basis the Project Job Costing Reports with the project engineering team.
9. Provide supporting information to inform the monthly board reporting process
10. Providing consultative advice in determining commissioning and performance requirements, commissioning strategies, programmes, scopes of work and the like.
11. Managing a team of engineers and/or managers, including undertaking personnel functions such as performance reviews in association with the Associate Director or Director.
Additionally, at all times:
• Engaging with other members of the Company to help improve existing systems and procedures
• Talking the role of Champion in an area of specific technical interest
• To promote the company and the wider group through marketing activities
PROFILE
Candidates will be experienced building services engineers with a particular interest and/or skill set in commissioning. This could be either by direct experience of setting systems to work, or by managing the process in working for a contractor or competitor.
Candidates will be expected to have a high level of technical competence in one or more of the following areas:
• Control engineering
• Fire engineering
• HV distribution
• HVAC balancing
• LV distribution
• Refrigeration
• Sustainability
• Stand-by power
• UPS
Professional qualifications are a benefit but not a prerequisite. Experience (technical and managerial), tact, diplomacy and good organisational skills are considered essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To act safely at all times in compliance with the Company’s health and safety policy and procedures.

3. To act as a key point of contact for project related client teams
4. To maintain positive relationships with other staff and professional team members
5. To ensure technical compliance and high quality production of our deliverables.
6. To work closely as part of the client’s team in developing commissioning strategies and processes which align fully with project objectives.
7. To fully adopt the Company’s project and internal management systems to see that the building services are fully commissioned in accordance with the contract documentation.
8. To maintain an acute awareness of project finances and control expenditure thereof.
9. To attend meetings as required.
10. To prepare reports that include technical content and progress/key issue detail. Alternatively, to sign off/authorise for publication similar documentation authored by other members of the team.
11. To develop project specific commissioning management/validation documents and procedures.
12. To be aware and report internally on project scope change.
13. To work with other members of a professional team in evaluating progress, difficulties and costs.
General Duties
1. To assist in the development of tender submissions and other potential clients
2. To accurately complete timesheets on a weekly basis.
3. To pre-actively support other members of staff in undertaking their work.
