ECI Commissioning Engineer – Permanent Position – Water Sector – Yorkshire Water
Introduction
We are currently recruiting for a ECI Commissioning Engineer to join a International Water & Wastewater Contractor
Job Description
Responsible for the mechanical, electrical commissioning of plant for water, effluent and air treatment plants.
To co-ordinate the various commissioning activities and ensure that all required test and documentation are completed and recorded.
To undertake MCC and PLC FATS tests at supplier’s premises and ensure FATS test reports are completed.
To undertake MCC and PLC onsite SATS and ensure SATS test reports are completed.
To undertake pre operational and operational tests on all equipment associated with the plant and ensure test reports are completed.
Review the ACWA design and client specification documentation, to ensure a thorough understanding commissioning contract requirements.
To prepare commissioning risk assessments and method statements where necessary to meet CDM and clients requirements.
To visit existing operational plants and plants in take over period as required investigating and addressing operational problems.
To monitor the H&S and environmental performance of any subcontractors onsite working for ACWA during the commissioning stage.
Undertake 2 weekly safety and environmental audits on site during the commissioning phase.
Prepare and submit detailed site daily reports in a timely fashion.
To maintain the site based filing systems during commissioning.
Ensure the Health and Safety of all staff and resources within the post holder’s area of responsibility, i.e. delegated responsibility in relation to the nature of the post holder’s duties and personal responsibilities as per Section 7 and 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and regulation 14 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
“Red-line” mark up of as-built drawings and issuing of such to the relevant Project Manager for updating.
Maintain the commissioning programme in accordance with the requirements of the contract.
Notify relevant Project Manager of Early Warnings and Requests for Information to satisfy requirements of the contract.
Ensure all snag items are resolved, client hand over is satisfactorily concluded and that there is no prolongation of project.
Take initiative to identify and deal with problems.
To show initiative in the absence of the Site and Project Managers and members of the Team in their respective roles in prioritising correspondence / telephone calls to ensure urgent matters are brought to the attention of appropriate colleagues.
To maintain good communication links between the relevant Project Manager and other members of the Team, outside organisations, and liaise with all staff.
Working on sites overseas and within the UK as required by the Contracts Manager.
To carry out any other reasonable request task by the Contracts Manager within your capabilities.
Skills & Qualifications
BTEC Level 2, 3, 4 & 5 / HNC in Electrical related discipline (required)
Proven good all round knowledge of LV/HV applications, installation / commissioning (required)
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position (required)
Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsi PLC based systems

CITB (SSSTS) Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme
