Salary: £26,000Dependent on experience
Length of Contract – 6 months on going
Hours- 35 hours per week

The client is a Greater Manchester based service who provides advice, support and refuge accommodation for up to 6 months for victims that have or are experiencing domestic abuse within the home. This service specialises in the support of high risk victims that have multiple needs such as mental health, substance misuse and some individuals that may be been involved in the criminal justice system. The service provided support for women and children fleeing domestic violence.
Key Responsibilities

*To draw up a personal support plan with the service users based on needs stated by the individual service users.
*To work with the service users to prioritise and set realistic and achievable goals.
*Identify support services the service users may need e.g. counselling and work collaboratively with other agencies such as the Police to secure support of a high standard.
*To proactively maintain the positive working relationships that has been established with such agencies.
*At all times to work in a non-judgemental and non-directive way.
*Develop relationships of trust and warmth with service users whilst at the same time maintaining professional boundaries.
*Work closely with service users to use the civil and criminal legal remedies that are available to maximise their sense of security. This will include accompanying service users to court, solicitors etc.

Candidate Requirements
*To be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Refuge, under the supervision of the Project Manager.
*To undertake shifts and being flexible to change, sometimes working lone shifts.
*To give clear and effective handovers to staff at the allotted times and outside that if necessary to ensure safety is promoted at its highest level.
*To be responsible and respond to emergencies in a calm and proactive manner, seeking advice and support where necessary and acting on decisions within agreed procedures.
*To be aware of and liaise with a wide range of agencies, both statutory and voluntary and engage where necessary as part of your service delivery to clients.
*To ensure that service users’ bedrooms are prepared in accordance with our re-let standards and are ready for occupation. This involves changing and laundering bedding, moving furniture, and cleaning rooms.
*To ensure rooms are maintained to a high standard by working proactively with service users to promote life skills and ensure that they adhere to their license agreement.
*To partake in other duties as determined reasonable, to assist in the smooth running of the services.
