Position: Dementia Support Worker
Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester
Contract type: Fixed Term Contract ending 31/03/2017
Hours: 30 per week
Salary: £26,000per year (actual)

About the Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent communication skills to provide support to people with dementia and their carers living in Oldham, helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being and putting them in more control of their lives.
The dementia support service involves dedicated members of staff giving support, information and guidance to a person with dementia or their carers and wider family or friends, whether in their own home, at service offices or at other locations, face to face, by phone, letter. The service may include signposting and providing referrals to other services.
About You:
We are looking for an individual who possesses NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) with an understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers. Your ability to assess client needs along with the understanding of the need for client confidentiality is essential to providing a valuable and worthwhile service. To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication skills as well as strong organisational and time management skills in order to manage your caseload of clients effectively.
