Hrs: Mon – Friday 07:30-16:30 (a little flexibility on times)

Contract: Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Control and Electrical Design Engineer for our Chemical Manufacturing client based in the Northwich area.

You will play a crucial role onsite, working alongside the Maintenance Team to design, develop and maintain the electrical controls systems, equipment and all machinery onsite.

As the Control and Electrical Design Engineer, your duties will be:

  • Design, install and maintain electrical and controls systems, to maintain infrastructure of the plant.
  • Maintain the plant drawing records to include PID’s, instrument loop and electrical drawings.
  • Plan and conduct electrical and control system maintenance – including inspection, auditing, breakdown repair and PPM’s.
  • Lead the troubleshooting of electrically controlled production equipment and provide a response to the maintenance team.
  • Select and oversee electrical contractors.
  • Identify and liaise with suppliers of electrical and control equipment and place orders.
  • Identify plant improvements.

The successful Control and Electrical Design Engineer will hold the following skills and experiences:

  • Must be Time Served or hold a degree qualification within Electrical or Control Engineering.
  • Must have 2-3 years of solid work experience, ideally working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be conversant with PLC and PLC controlled equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Great team player with the ability to work under own supervision.
