Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer

Burnley – 4 on 4 off Pattern (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off)

£37,150 Including shift allowance, plus O/T

The Company:

McIver Knight Associates have partnered with a business that manufacture and supply their specialist products globally. This process manufacturing company are now seeking to recruit a hardworking and flexible Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer to assist with the maintenance of and care of site operations, ensuring that all the equipment is safe and fit for purpose.

The Candidate:

Working within a team of engineering staff, you will be responsible for ensuring that the electrical equipment / Mechanical, machinery and power systems are regularly maintained and inspected. Carry out preventative maintenance, problem solving and repairs to ensure the consistent running of the factory, machinery and all ancillary equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out scheduled planned maintenance work of machinery, ancillary equipment and site services in order to minimise breakdowns.
  • Investigate the nature of plant failures and subsequently carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Carry out electrical / mechanical installation, general repairs and servicing of machinery to specification and on time.
  • Breakdown response; carrying out the necessary repairs as quickly as possible in order to minimise inconvenience whilst keeping Shift Leaders/Managers fully informed of progress.
  • Portable Appliance Testing.
  • Maintain administrative records to ensure they are satisfactory for internal audits.
  • Support 5s initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment and ensure that all equipment is used in accordance with safety regulations and company policy.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be Apprentice Trained and qualified to Level 3 in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Maintenance, Electrical, etc
  • Have a proven track record in working within a continuous process manufacturing environment (although other industries will be considered)
  • Experienced in project/CI work
  • You will be experienced in performing reactive maintenance as well as PPM tasks on a regular basis
