Contracts Manager

Salary: £48,000 per year

Due to current business growth and new business gains we are recruiting for a South West based Contracts Manager on behalf of one of the UK’s leading Playground companies who have been creating play areas for a wide range of clients that include schools, nurseries, councils, residential property, and commercial developers etc., for over 20 years.

As the Contracts Manager you will take on responsibility for the planning and implementation of multiple and concurrently running play installation, estate improvement and landscaping projects within a set geographical area.

This will include:

• Overall responsibility for project revenue and costs, assisting the Operations Director in managing monthly budgets across their range of services, scheduling projects, monthly revenue forecasts and P&L reporting.
• Responsibility for both the project management and resource planning for your allocated teams and projects ensuring that projects are delivered on time and in line with priced expectations.
• Completing site specific risk assessments and planning health and safety for all projects.
• Working alongside other regional Contracts Managers and offering support to the sales, design, and spares teams.
• Quoting for bespoke projects and submitting tenders for new works.
• Responsibility for a Contracts Supervisor who manages both quality and site operations and a Contracts Coordinator who acts as the admin support for your region.
• Looking at areas within projects that give scope for margin enhancement.

To be considered as the Contracts Manager you will need:

• A contracting / operations background with related experience from either playground installation, landscaping or construction projects. Sector specific training will form part of the initial induction process and ongoing training is available.
• To be a strong leader with a demonstrable experience of operational / contracts management and the ability to communicate at all levels.
• To have strong commercial awareness as well as organisational, prioritising, multi-tasking and negotiating skills.
• To be experienced in managing projects and resources aligned to budgets and priced expectations.
• To be ambitious, self-motivated, enthusiastic, motivational and a hard worker who enjoys being rewarded for success.

On offer for the successful Contracts Manager is:

• A salary of up to £48,000.
