Contract Design Engineer

jjFOX Are currently seeking Contract Mechanical Design Engineers skilled in Creo preferably, although ProE would be acceptable. To undertake a Minimum 3 month contracted position within a based Manufacturing company.

Key tasks you will be expected to perform will include:

• The creation of detailed and innovative 2D and 3D designs predominantly using AutoCAD and Inventor ideally with some stress analysis/ FEA experience
• Detailing to component level, ensuring all designs comply to applicable British Standards
• Creation of detailed parts lists and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Producing general assembly and arrangement drawings as well as the writing of technical descriptions for technical manuals.
• Plastic Injection Moulding
• Attending Customer meetings in order to assist with technical issues.
• Modification of existing Designs on Creo / Pro Engineer

Ideally you should be educated to HNC/HND standard in a relevant Mechanical Design or Engineering discipline and have a proven track record of working to a high standard in a design for manufacture environment.

Beneficial Skills would include previous experience in a Product Data Management or Design Change Control Systems role. Proven ability in technical writing and involvement in design for manufacture.

Previous experience in New product development and improvement would be highly advantageous. Experience in Creo / ProEngineer and manufacture of Air Movement and heating and ventilation equipment would be of strong benefit.
