Contract Design Engineer

Contract Design Engineer. Degree qualified or equivalently trained / qualified, design engineer with surfacing, assembly modelling and casting design experience using Solidworks CAD. 5 month contract developing a new product from prototype to production as part of a specialized engineering team. The role will involve the design of aluminum structures using a variety of composite manufacturing methods. The company are a successful, design engineering consultancy, providing product and analysis solutions that operate within aerospace / automotive industries.

The role will involve:
• Designing aluminum structures using various component manufacturing methods using Solidworks
• Taking product from prototype through to production.
• Liaising with internal and external customers where necessary
• On occasion integrating / meeting with CAE and manufacturing teams

This role will suit:
• Likely to be degree qualified in a mechanical or similar engineering discipline
• Experience of using solidworks CAD
• Exposure to surfacing, assembly modelling, casting design, design for adhesive bonding and manufacture.
