Construction Administrator – Torquay

* Role: Construction Administrator

* Location: Torquay, Devon

About the development:

The company is in search of an Construction Site Administrator, working on a prestigious cliff top coastal front development overlooking Lyme Bay in Torquay – the former Stoodley Knowle private girls’ school, consisting of luxury new homes, apartments and homes in converted listed buildings.

Accountable to: Construction Director and Construction site teams.

Job Purpose: You will manage individual site construction administration and activity to support the company’s construction, project and business objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

* Maintain health & safety documentation on-site and assisting in implementing H&S audit recommendations are implemented and adhered to.

* Assist with subcontract management including inductions, issuing permits, tracking method statements, risk assessments and accreditations.

* Coordinate Construction Director and Site Manager(s) schedule and meetings, in conjunction with the Construction Directors PA.

* Attend site, sub-contractor and supplier meetings (as required) and produce minutes or a record of discussions.

* Monitoring activity on-site and maintaining records – photographs, diaries and weekly reports as required.

* Implement and maintain accurate filing of all construction documentation.

* Liaise with and coordinate site activity with Sales & Marketing team.

* Be responsible for ensuring Construction Director and site managers are supported in a consistent, standard way in keeping with company processes and procedures.

* Provide support to ensure projects and are compliant with the finance and project processes.

* Be responsible (as a process custodian) for supporting the Project and Site manager with key labour processes (e.g. timesheet collection, coding, collecting overtime requests).

* Coordinate completion of monthly manager reports for presentation to Board level.

* Upwardly manage senior site based staff to comply with process and procedures, thus being at the centre of required cultural change and development.

* Coordinate the site IT requirements.

* Assist with the collation and submission of all invoicing for timely process and action.

* Liaise with the Commercial and Finance Managers to facilitate any actions required to ensure payment compliance.

* Provide assistance and co-ordination with the Group head office, essentially to ensure an efficient and effective operation.

* Site first point of contact for answering calls, screening and taking messages.

* Ensure site office, welfare and reception area are well presented.

* As and when required carry out other duties deemed reasonable, as instructed by line manager or director of the company.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

* Administration background and experience required ideally within Construction but not essential.

* Excellent communicator.

* Self motivated and team player, self organised and eager to learn.

* Computer literate, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
