Communications Coordinator

Salary: £23.38 – £24.58 per hour

START DATE: ASAP – 6 months contract based in main marketing comms team of leading arts institution. This is role is for someone with excellent written communication skills who can engage an audience across various digital platforms. The ideal candidate will demonstrate journalistic ability to source stories from staff and students and an understanding of how to attract an audience on digital platforms.

You will have a strong understanding of communications and contribute and coordinate the delivery and monitoring of the External Communication Strategy via print, media, events and online channels in order to build college profiles and support student recruitment.

The role will include:

* Seeking out and maximising communications and promotional opportunities to proactively raise the profile of the institute through a range of channels and media and to support student recruitment.

* Coordinating the production of content for college communications channels and ensure they are utilised as effective tools for messaging.

* Tailoring communications to respond to the needs of external stakeholders.

* Researching audience needs.

* Gathering and developing stories and content to promote college activity.

* Identifying, developing and building audiences for channels including blogs, social media, and print outputs in line with college and university strategies.

* Leading on and implementing external relations projects including developing media proposals, managing media information, promoting expert comment, writing case studies, playing a supporting role in web and events planning and delivering joined-up campaigns.

* Coordinating the promotion of the college galleries, talks and events programs to external audiences.

* Monitor press coverage and providing articles and research.
