This high-performance design and build contractor have asked us to find a Commercial Manager with significant and relevant market sector experience to join their London based commercial team.

The Commercial Manager will be working on around 3 to 4 design and build projects at any time, site based with the option/flexibility to work at home on occasion to aid work/life balance.

Commercial Manager – key responsibilities and duties:

• Preparation of tenders, contracts and project related documents
• Putting together Sub-contractors scope packages from drawings
• Manage sub-contractors packages and payments
• Valuations of sub-contractors works and payment notices/ certificates
• Settle final accounts and negotiate as necessary
• Take-offs & use of current software
• Client payment applications and valuations
• Assume responsibility for all aspects of project delivery
• Project planning, client and subcontractor liaison, management of internal team members, financial management.
• Cost reporting, change management, profitability, managing quality.
• Administration of the contract conditions and client requirements

Commercial Manager – qualifications, skills and expertise:

• HNC or Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying
• Proven experience in a senior commercial capacity for a Main Contractor (Design and Build)
• Advanced skills in MS Office, Word, Excel & Outlook
• Exceptional communication skills – both oral and written
• Ability to build strong relationships with all management levels
• Good problem solving skills
• Commercial skills, maximising value recovery, cost control and cash management
