Cleaner – Monday to Friday

RSR Police are currently recruiting a Cleaner to be based at Walsall Police Station and cover other locations such as Wolverhampton Central/ Wednesfield/ Bilston/ Aldridge and Bloxwich to join the Facilities Management Team.

You will be responsible for carrying out general cleaning duties within areas of an operational police station or partner building, that consist of offices, washrooms and welfare areas, custody suites and forensic areas.

This role is a temporary 6 month contract working Monday to Friday 7.00am to 3.00pm (2.00pm on a Friday) for a total of 36.5 hours a week. The rate of pay for this role is £26,000per year PAYE per year.

Main Duties:

• Damp dusting furniture, fixtures and furnishings, suction cleaning and wet mopping floors and stairwells, washing walls and other vertical surfaces and tiled areas up to a height of 3.53m (11ft) using high level cleaning equipment.
• Cleaning kitchens and welfare areas including cleaning and defrosting refrigerators, cleaning inside units and cupboards.
• Maintaining cleaning equipment and to report any faulty equipment or materials.
• Report any maintenance defects that are noted in the building.
• Undertake learning and carry out any other duties commensurate with the purpose and grading of the post.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience of working within a similar role, and ideally across multiple sites.
• Excellent communication skills and be able to understand both written and verbal instruction.
• Ability to undertake work that involves manual handling.
• Undertake learning and development in order to demonstrate competency in performing all duties within role, such as safe use of cleaning equipment and machinery, manual handling and lifting equipment.
• Flexibility to commute to alternative areas of work within the police estate as required.
• Ability to work on own initiative and possess good interpersonal skills.

This role will be subject to vetting and the successful individual will be required to obtain and maintain these clearances.
