Salary: £42,000 – £54,000 per year
The Change Delivery Manager is an important management role that is focused on delivery of the ongoing projects to a high quality, by ensuring that the right project management capability is in place. The Change Delivery Manager will manage the project managers and be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate project management capability needed by the business is available at all times, through employing appropriate skilled internal staff and using external project delivery resources, where necessary.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the scoping and delivery of change projects to specification, within budget and to agreed timeframes.
- Strong people management of project managers to ensure that they deliver when working with the 3rd party partners and across the business. Responsible for ensuring that SMART personal objectives are in place and monitored for all staff and that personal development is encouraged and managed.
- Responsible for developing a high quality change delivery capability – setting a clear standard for delivery focussed and collaborative behaviours, as well as developing and recruiting high quality staff that maintain/improve the capability
- Responsible for identifying and sourcing additional external resources to increase the permanent change delivery team for specific projects – establishing good relationships with 3rd party resource providers that can supply resources as needed
- Responsible for assisting project managers and project sponsors with the identification and management of specific project risks
- Responsible for ensuring that projects are managed in line with the appropriate methodology for delivery and that regular updates and reporting are provided in line with agreed governance
- This role is a member of the wider management team and will be responsible for demonstrating the appropriate leadership/management behaviours and working collaboratively across the management structure.
Skills & Knowledge
Key skills:
- Experience of managing of a change delivery team
- Knowledge of project delivery methodologies, (e.g. Prince2, APM, Agile delivery)
- Experience in building relationships with senior stakeholders, including project sponsors and 3rd party partners
- Demonstrable skills in management of people – managing performance, developing staff, recruitment and managing pay and reward
- Experience in managing change projects to successful completion
- Experience in managing a portfolio of change initiatives
- Strong communication and influencing skills, able to operate with multiple levels of staff, partners, customers and stakeholders (including Board members) verbally and in writing
- Demonstrable business and financial acumen, ensuring that projects achieve the agreed business case
Remote working available, 2 days onsite, 3 days from home.
