Salary: £15.6 – £17.47 per hour
My client is a leading international academic publishing company with an exciting opportunity for a Career Pathway Specialist to join their committed Global HR team on a project basis for a term of 6 months.
Reporting into the Global VP of People Strategy and working across the People Team this role will work in conjunction with the Senior HRBP for People Strategy (Books division) and with the Advanced Learning department to lead the process of developing career pathways for the 650 global colleagues in that department. Career development is integral to my client’s business model and is vital for them as a company to ensure they retain, develop and attract the best talent to help them succeed.
The role holder will be tasked with the following:
* Designing Career Pathway models that are straightforward and easy to follow and which will help guide our colleagues on the career paths that they want to take through the business.
* Implement Career Pathways that aid colleague progression and growth in alignment with overall reward and retention strategies for the organisation.
* Partner with the other People teams in the business, primarily focusing on the development of a best-in-class Career Pathways framework aligned to a performance management system which helps to showcase the organisation as a prospective employer of choice for external job seekers, and as motivation for existing staff to want to remain and grow with the business.
* Working closely with the L&OD team to create Skill Toolkits that enable development within and across pathways.
* Working with the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Lead to set policy/criteria for success, development and advancement that are inclusive, fair and build trust.
Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours Required
* A strong grounding in career design & development including understanding job descriptions/role profiles
* A strong HR generalist background with exposure to L&OD
* Ideally have relevant practical experience within a global company
* Experience of working with senior leadership and influencing/gaining buy-in at all levels
* Strong consulting skills and a true customer service orientation towards internal clients
* Initiative, with excellent time management, organisational skills, project and program management skills
* Excellent communication skills
* High attention to detail
* Able to form strong working relationships at all levels of the business
* A creative outlook
