Our professional responsibility is to reduce the risk of infection to others as far as possible. CAMHS eating disorder services for children and young people is changing – and for the better! We are expanding and improving our Managing Eating Pathway for children and young people.

We are looking for a full-time Band 7 Specialist Mental Health Practitioner to join our highly skilled and innovative, multi-disciplinary CAMHS team. You will be offering high-quality interventions to children, young people, and their families experiencing significant and complex, mental health difficulties, challenging eating patterns, and associated concerns.We are looking for applicants with specialist skills such as CBT Supervision, DBT, Supervision Skills or you may be able to bring something else to the team.

About You

will hold a core professional qualification and professional registration in either nursing, occupational therapy, social work, or clinical psychology and will have undertaken training in an evidence-based therapeutic intervention. You will have significant experience working with children, young people, and families. You will have the knowledge and skills to deliver evidence-based and outcome monitored psychological therapies, but will also be able to demonstrate your competence as a reflective practitioner with skills in working in multi-disciplinary teams. You will have the skills and experience of supervising other clinicians. Above all, you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to service user participation and collaborative working with children, young people, parents, carers, and families. You will have a good understanding of safeguarding in relation to infants, children, and families. You will have or be willing to develop skills and knowledge of clinical leadership contributing to quality improvement and service development. There will be specific CPD and training events developed to support you that are tailored to your individual needs.

About us

Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) comprises an Alliance of six NHS organisations working together to improve health outcomes for children and young people in Devon. CFHD provides integrated care & treatment for children and young people across physical and mental health i.e. Children in Care, Therapies, including OT, Physiotherapy, SALT, learning disability and autism, community & other nursing and mental health services which are provided by Torbay and South Devon Foundation Trust and Devon Partnership Trust. We are working closely with other organisations and providers to ensure to deliver locality-placed based, integrated access to all of our services, based on the i-Thrive Framework, in response to wide-ranging consultation with our service users and communities.

CFHD works closely with our local universities of Plymouth, Exeter & the Peninsula Medical School where we support students in clinical training placements and in addition support our own staff to undertake post graduate training. We actively engage service users and their families in co-design which is facilitated by a dedicated young person’s lead role who also works closely with Young Devon who provide additional co-design and feedback through the Devon young people’s champions group.
