Cable & Harness Design Team Lead

Salary: £48 – £54 per hour

Hours 37 Hours per week

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cable & Harness Design Team Leader to join a world class technical engineering company based in Stevenage. This role will be very important to developing capabilities to help protect national interests and global security. This could be just what you are looking for?

The Cable and Harness Design Engineer will lead a growing Interconnects team. The Team Lead is a diverse role, not only will you be providing line management to the team, but you will also get stuck into designing bespoke electrical interconnects/cables suitable for the transmission of power, signal, and data within and between subsystems in an exciting product range.

You will need to be able to carry out investigations into a full range of cable problems and issues, as well as developing and preparing solutions, either individually or as a member of a project team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants to take that first step into leadership.

Skills and qualifications:

• Experience of leading a small team would be an advantage, but not mandatory as there will be the opportunity for development.
• The ability to define cable assembly construction based upon electrical constraints such as current, screening, signal types, volt drop, EMC and environmental requirements.
• Demonstrable experience in cable/harness design, using relevant CAD packages such as HarnWare or Zuken E3.
• An appreciation of cable assembly production/process engineering.
• Experience of working collaboratively with other engineering disciplines such as mechanical and electronic design engineers to deliver robust cable assembly design solutions.
• Finally, we are looking for someone who has a track record of on-time delivery along with good verbal and written communication skills.

You should be able and willing to gain (UK Eyes only) security clearance, potentially to DV level in the future.
