Buyer

A Buyer is required to join a family owned and managed business dedicated to supplying premium quality, performance, cleaning, domestics, tools and pest control products.

Using their 30 years of experience in sales of household and building materials they selectively source their products from leading manufacturers. They have a choice of a wide range of products, ranging from electronic devices to cleaning products to clothing organizers.

They are a well established store retailer within the UK and Europe with a variety of products across all retail sectors and are looking for buyers who are ready to take a hands on approach to running their new location.

The Role

They currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Buyer to join their London based team. This is an exciting time to join their business, they are growing rapidly and have high expectations for growth.

In this key role as Buyer you will be accountable for developing and growing the category to achieve significant growth within the organisation.

Principal Accountabilities:

– Superior negotiation with domestic suppliers and manufacturers, accountable for cost reduction and margin growth ensuring highly competitive range pricing is achieved.
– Development and execution of robust product plans for the Category from cradle to grave ensuring all key milestones are met to deliver business plan.
– Stakeholder management across the business ensuring cross functional teams such as sales, marketing and distribution are equipped and motivated to drive the category.

Skills and Experience:

– Ideally have Knowledge of the DIY or professional decorating, plumbing, electrical and fixings through brand management or buying experience.
– Experience of managing budgets and product/buying management.
– Demonstrate a track record of successful commercial relationships with suppliers.
– Proven experience of negotiation, adding commercial value.
– Ability to build highly successful relationships with stakeholders including suppliers.
– Passion for products, innovation and new product development
– Excellent communication skills
