Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year

We are currently recruiting for a Tactical Buyer to join an extremely busy Manufacturing Engineering client based in North West Manchester 

This position has been created due to an increased work load and the client is looking to grow its current team.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a Tactical Purchasing role within an engineering / manufacturing environment with experience in taking ownership of their of portfolio of products. The company are manufacture to order, not high volume so the ability to run multiple projects at once is a must. You will need to ensure that all purchase orders are placed to ensure materials arrive in a timely manner to meet demand.

Interested candidates have solid experience using ERP systems- SAP Experience is highly advantageous.

Hours – Monday – Friday 7AM – 3PM

Role Description

• Prepare daily analysation report to rationalise daily prioritisation.
• Convert requisitions to purchase orders and issue to the supply base in a timely manner.
• Run and manage the output of the exception report for section of work ensuring company liability is kept to a minimum.
• Prioritise requirements with the supply base to meet customers RDSL requirements.
• Run and issue on a weekly basis a supplier open order report and maintain data in the ERP system
• Manage and highlight or escalate any issues of part delivery through the most appropriate channels (internal / external) whilst ensuring the purchase manager is kept updated.
• Create, develop and maintain excellent working relationships with supply base and internal stakeholders.
• Work with the supply base to better the current position through purchase general tactics.
• Understand the internal stakeholders / customers’ needs and wants to aim to meet and exceed their expectations
• Take an active role in Perfect Execution activities as required.
• Whilst undertaking duties, ensure that all Company policy and procedures are adhered to (including HSE and Quality).

Skills & Attributes

• Demonstrable experience within a Tactical Purchasing role within an engineering/ manufacturing environment.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage work pressure.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP – advantageous
• Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook literate.
• Excellent communication skills.
