SF Procurement is working with niche manufacturer in the walsall area to recruit a Buyer. The business is rapidly growing with a strong turnover & outlook for the future. 

Role Description – 

• Responsible for the correct releasing of production orders 
• Shortages – ensuring shortages are on track and are chased in, managed to production orders
• Ownership of released production orders, liaising heavily with all departments to ensure material shortages are on track and will not impact production output
• Taking ownership and accountability for customer meetings. Review of customer orderbooks, ensuring everything is aligned to the supply chain
• Procurement of items in line with demand from MRP report, for customer specific vendors
• Managing MRP report to adapt to schedule changes etc – Communicated to via planning. Ensure material is brought in/pushed out to new demand
• Update lead times in Nav for material, on a periodic basis
• Set up weekly TEAMS calls with ‘problem’ suppliers to review order book and ensure all on track
• Sourcing of alternatives for problematic parts, working with engineering and all other departments, to the point of resolution
• Raise problem parts to customer services and planner to ensure customers are informed of potential issues
• Identify suppliers that would benefit from agreements and work alongside team to implement

Person Specification – 

• Understand of purchasing, obtained from working at buyer / co-ordinator level 
• Understanding of manufacturing supply chains
• Able to communicate effectively with internal & external stakeholders & suppliers.
• Technically astute
