Salary: £720 – £780 per day

Business Manager for the Euston Station area is required for 6-month interim contract working within the Client Organisation responsible for the New High-Speed Rail project in the UK this is a multi-billion-pound high-speed railway to directly link the city centres of: London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester. Contract Extension highly likely.

Deliver assigned projects and provide Project Management support to the Euston Area Client Director with a focus on Business Management. You will be responsible for; delivery of special or continuous improvement projects, Asset business planning and workforce planning, programme governance and development of Asset wide plans and procedures.

The Business Manage for the Euston Station area sits within the Construction Directorate and key responsibilities will be workforce planning and programme governance. The Euston Station area is a key part of the project with multiple interfaces and a huge programme of works. The Business Manager will be responsible or work force planning, forecasting recruitment, budgets and approvals and ensuring this all follows the strict governance regime, for instance supporting recruitment business case. Will also support Continuous improvement change programmes (Special projects) & support the production of Funding papers to the department of transport – coordinate stakeholder input, quality check, report writing.

Must Have’s for the Role

  • Will have experience working for public funded organisation or public sector:- experience of strict governance regimes & business cases.
  • HR / Work force Planning experience
  • Demonstrate excellent Stakeholder Management experience.
  • Strong Project Management & Admin skills

Working Situation – Hybrid

Role is office based from London Euston coupled with Hybrid working – expectation is to work 2/3 days a week either from Birmingham and the rest of the time working from home.

Salary £720 – £780INSIDE IR35

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead, review and influence HS2 subject matter experts to deliver special projects or continuous improvement projects on behalf of the Client Director
  • Working with the relevant functions to monitor, improve and advise on the programme with regards to time, cost, resources, quality and safety in support of the Client Director.
  • Responsible for producing the Asset Management Plan and other Asset level documentation
  • Manage the business planning process, keeping to company timescales for the delivery of annual business plans and maintaining compliance with the Construction workforce plan
  • Assure that the management of health, safety and security (HS&S) by the appointed supply chain meets the required standard
  • Collaborate and support teams embedded within the various delivery partners to deliver the project deliverables
  • Assimilate, manage and present complex information
  • Act as the first point of contact for outside of Asset team requests for information or new areas of work before they have an Asset lead
  • Provide support on the creation of materials for both internal and external audiences including presentations and briefings on behalf of the Client Director as required. In addition, provide information when required to the Delivery Directors office
  • Supporting the Client Director in Area level decision making including the secretariat for the Asset Change and Investment Panel, reviewing the quality of the papers submitted and maintaining the Asset teams Forward Look
