Business Finance Partner

CRG Resourcing are currently looking for a Finance Assistant Officer to work onsite for one of our prestigious Clients in the Berkshire area.

CRG Resourcing is a specialist division that covers a wide range of sectors, including rail (Transport for London), retail, IT, engineering, catering & hospitality and admin & clerical staff. We are the commercial service division for CRG, the national recruitment agency and we supply administration and clerical staffing to private, charitable and public sector organisations throughout the UK.

Job Purpose:
To work closely with the Services to form a comprehensive understanding of their financial position. Articulate both the financial and operational risks and opportunities to the management teams and proactively provide solutions and assistance to help inform decisions. Be an integral part of the service, offering support and guidance on financial matters.

Main Tasks/Accountabilities

* Support with financial modelling to assist management in value for money decision making including an appraisal of options available.
* Review of monthly financial reports identifying key variances to expectation.
* Production of analysis linking key operational metrics with market conditions and other influencing factors to present a clear understanding of financial performance to management along with potential financial implications.
* Highlight the risks and opportunities across the services, ensuring these are communicated effectively and timely to help drive appropriate decisions to be taken.
* To support the Service with messaging corporately any growth or opportunity, ensuring the necessary funds are secured on a timely basis.
* To provide management with the necessary tools and support to ensure best practice in Financial Management.
* To ensure that the financial affairs of the Service Unit are carried out with integrity, professionalism, efficiency and in accordance with Financial Regulations and to promote high standards of financial control by keeping up to date with Finance standards and regulations
* Work with the Service to develop the financial budget requirements for the following year identifying key areas of change ensuring that there is a clear business case for the change and it is aligned with the Corporate/Service priorities. Close down of accounts at year end, ensuring quality and accuracy of data.

Knowledge/Qualifications:
* Fully Qualified ACCA or CIMA or equivalent
* Up to date knowledge of the financial requirements, legislation and Government initiatives impacting Service Delivery Services.

Skills/Abilities:
* Strong presentation & communications skills for relaying financial and non financial data to management.
* The ability to use Excel to an advanced level
* The ability to analyse & interpret budget report information
* The ability to communicate technical knowledge in a confident and comprehensible manner to others
* The ability to influence leadership on financial decision making
* Ability to deal with change effectively
* Sound business acumen (ie. Able to fully participate in discussions around issues that may impact financial outcomes e.g. Operations people, IT, supply/demand, quality etc.)

Experience:

* In a public sector finance role.
* As a management accountant analysis financial data
* Of dealing with Management
* Working in a change environment and aided the delivery of change

Personal Qualities:

* The ability to work unsupervised and to meet tight deadlines including whilst under pressure
* To be proactive in the identification and analysis of problems and issues which impact significantly on the areas of responsibility
* Professional in outlook gaining the confidence of key stakeholders
