Salary: £72,000 per year
Business Development Manager, (Food manufacturing), C £60K basic + up to 25% bonus (£75K OTE) + car allowance + pension + healthcare
Arlington Moore Search & Selection are working exclusively on behalf of a major food producer who are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager or Account Manager for their prestigious retail division.
This company is an award winning, innovative food producer with a £multi million turnover which is set to grow even further. Due to this growth, they are looking for an Account Manager or BDM with experience of collaborating with the major retailers.
This is an exciting role with a twist as our client sees this role growing in the future, so career progression is something firmly on the horizon.
Reporting to MD level the Business Development Manager will be responsible for the effective, profitable, and progressive commercial management of all retail accounts as well as forming lasting relationships with customers and internal teams. The role is a category led approach which focuses on the consumer and adding value to the retailers’ range.
Responsibilities of the BDM include:
- Managing customer relations and existing business
- Nurturing existing customer accounts to uncover incremental volume
- Profiling and developing an in-depth knowledge of the customers and the profit opportunities
- Solid understanding of different retailers, inclusive of retailer best practices, trends and sustainable objectives that will help shape future strategies
- Working closely with the NPD team to develop new launches to a customer brief or specification
- Developing new business in line with company’s strategic growth plan
- Forecasting sales volumes
As Business Development Manager you should have:
- Account management experience in Food manufacturing.
- Demonstrable retail account management
- Strong understanding of buyer / seller relationship.
- Basic principles of GSCOP (Groceries Supply Codes of Practice)
- Account Budgeting & Costing experience
