Role Purpose

The Business Analysis team provides MI, analysis and insight across a range of commercial themes to all areas of Worldpay, with particular focus on Worldpay UK. Through provision of regular and ad-hoc management information the role helps provide an understanding around the key drivers of profitability and supporting recruitment, income, risk reduction and retention initiatives. Enabling better decision making the team build and develop models, data and statistical analysis to maximise profitability or minimise risk.

Naturally you can expect to receive formal training and ongoing mentoring enabling you take on and deliver these responsibilites with a high level of competence and, ultimately, enabling you to make further recommendations and contributions towards best practice.

  • Facilitate key decisions at all levels in Worldpay’s business through construction of mathematical and statistical models, which provide business insight.
  • Scoping, development and provision of scenario analyses using appropriate performance metrics

  • Design, implementation and measurement of live tests that enable us to relate customer behaviours to how/what we communicate with them.

  • Scoping, development and provision of key information and analysis at critical decision making points in established business processes.

  • Provide written reports and verbal briefings of specialised analysis that are communicated to all levels of the business.

  • Develop relationships with key functional areas; Risk, Finance, Technology & Operations, Business Development, Marketing.

  • Integration of improved data sources into core processes. Ensuring golden source data reconciles to all analysis.

  • Contribution to goals and objectives of BA team by sharing knowledge, promoting best practice in the application of tools & techniques and providing guidance to other team members

  • Able to check own work, identify errors and make use of independent sources of data for validation

Role Requirements

You will ideally be a recent graduate (0-2 years experience) having followed a statistical, mathematical or operational research discipline (or similar). You should have demonstrable passion for “getting into the numbers” and expert knowledge of modelling and a wide range of statistical techniques (or the desire to become an expert). Strong Excel knowledge is important as is SQL (however again, training can be provided). You should be comfortable with handling large volumes of data residing within a range of database environments and be (or become) adept at harvesting and analysing this with a commercial mindset.
