Salary: £48,000 – £60,000 per year
Hiring NOW for an experienced BMS Engineer to undertake a mixed role across Service & Maintenance, Small Works and Projects Commissioning.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Check emails on a daily basis for instructions
- Responsible for making backups of software and strategy files as required for all sites visited under a service agreement
- Update the server on a regular basis with backup
- Responsible for taking electrical LAN maps of site architecture (If applicable) for all sites visited under a service agreement
- Responsible for designing and implementing PPM planners for all sites visited under a service agreement
- Responsible for the care and maintenance of all controls equipment as per company policy, for all sites visited under a service agreement
- Responsible for attending callouts and breakdowns as and when required, according to company SLA’s. Provide daily updates to Project Engineer/Manager
- Complete site reports for each visit performed, detailing work carried out and recommendations
- Responsible for building and maintaining strong client relations
- Carry out Conditional Site Surveys as required and produce fully detailed reports complete with recommendations
- Responsible for commissioning various BMS control systems (Addition systems training will be provided where necessary) completing Wiring and Commissioning Schedules, updating Control Panel Drawings and the Description of Operation in the Commissioning File.
- Responsible for the day-to-day liaison and management of Sub-contractors
- Enforce H&S interests of the company on a day-to-day basis for all employees and Sub-Contractors. Create and enforce method statements and risk assessments and update when necessary
- When carrying out small works, maintain at all times an office-based projects folder backed up onto the office server in accordance with the company ISO procedures.
- When carrying out small works, ensure the project meets the clients/consultants’ design specification in relation to BMS controls installation, design and implementation.
- Ensure all projects meet the Programme of Works and report back to the Service Manager where contractual, design or resource issues occur.
- Responsible for procurement of the correct controls equipment related to each project
- Responsible for creating software, wiring & Commissioning Schedules and O&M documentation complete with Description of Operation. Discuss any outsourcing with the Operations Manager
- Ensure that all works are carried out within the project method statement and risk assessment as well as the company’s and clients’ health and safety policy. Any required deviation from these policies is to be reported back to the Project Engineer or H&S representative
- Responsible for diligent demonstration and handover to clients on smaller projects.
- Complete weekly time sheets and adhere to all company ISO procedures
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years BMS experience in a similar role ideally with a good understanding in either Siemens, Trend or Tridium
- Ability to work under own initiative but work as part of a team
- Commercial Awareness/Technical Knowledge
- Superb communication & organisational skills
- Good attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills ensuring all technical queries and issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Self-motivated, responsible and accountable. willing to add value at every level
- Customer Service Skills – ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing through use of Excel, Word & Outlook and in-house Service Management database & Financial systems
