We are seeking an inquisitive, commercially minded, and technically capable SQL/SSIS specialist to join a fast-paced business with headquarters in the City of London. This is a brand-new role that is critical to the ongoing business growth by acquisition and will effectively form a BI function to enhance financial planning and analysis.

THE ROLE OF BI ANALYST:

In the role of BI Analyst you will take responsibility for the ongoing development and governance of the inflow of data into a central reporting dashboard / platform (Power BI). The MI platform will provide a single source of data to enable agile reporting and analytics that interrogates performance and trends. Working in a small team you will be the driving force from a technical perspective and in time supporting Senior Management in how to best harness the potential of this new centralised data.

* Manage the integrity and health of incoming data from various (flat file) sources

* Write SQL statements/queries/SSIS/SSMS to build and automate the dashboard/reporting function as required and used by senior managers and data analysts

* Work with software engineers and analysts to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

* Continually automate and improve development, testing and release processes, streamlining efficiency and accuracy

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Essential

* Technical expertise with SQL, SSIS and the SQL Management Studio

* Enjoys problem solving and finding solutions to meet business needs

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to balance working collaboratively as well as independently

* Commercially minded – keen to understand the business and how your solutions will add value

Desirable

* Power BI knowledge

* Knowledge of industry sectors such as tourism, finance, betting, and generally dynamic or fast paced businesses
