Assistant Housing Officer

BRC Social housing are currently recruiting for one of our key clients in Devon. We require an experienced Assistant Housing Officer / Housing Assistant for a 6 month contract.

You will be assisting with the management a designated patch of properties and duties will include:

• Provide prompt and effective support to the local housing team, including dealing with face to face and other customer enquiries, ensuring services provided in accordance with agreed standards, policies and procedures
• Work with colleagues, contractors and external agencies to ensure homes are promptly let and new residents signed up, welcomed and inducted into their new home.
• Ensure all allocated tasks – such as repairs or planned maintenance administration, supporting estate inspections, ASB or complaints processing and benefits or payments processing – are completed in accordance with agreed policies, procedures, timescales and standards
• Use agreed processes and systems to record information and data to enable accurate and timely reporting for business planning and performance management
• Achieve agreed personal, team and corporate objectives, including providing support for fellow team members and other colleaguesManaging tenancies including collection of rent, income recovery, voids control, estate inspections and tenancy/lease enquiries

It is essential that you have:

• Proven experience of providing excellent customer services
• Proven ability to work methodically, follow agreed procedures and accurately record data and information
• Proven ability to provide accurate and clear responses to routine customer enquiries – in writing, face to face or by telephone
• Good oral and written communications
• Previous experience of working in Social Housing
