Assistant Health & Safety Advisor – 12-month Fixed term Contract

This is a fantastic opportunity for a colleague working within the local Authority to develop their skills, knowledge and experience whilst contributing to the continued development of a Facilities Management service. Working on behalf of Bury Council Operational services team, your primary focus will be to assist in the delivery of health and safety related tasks. This will involve advising and managing a range of compliance functions which relate to the management of assets owned or occupied by the Council, including duties under the Equalities Act 2010, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and elements of Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant legislation.

Core duties are to Coordinate delivery of statutory obligations and compliance with key stakeholders across the estate, audit monitor and maintain Building assets owned or leased by the Council to ensure they comply with statutory Health and Safety guidelines whilst maintaining an effective and up to date register of asset compliance You will also provide a support service, to staff that work in the Buildings in relation to repairs and maintenance and resolve day-to-day problems/queries as they arise. To do this effective management of all contract /service level agreement in conjunction with operational requirements is critical.

The post involves significant responsibility, and you will need good basic knowledge our buildings.
