Assistant Compliance Manager
Do you have previous broking experience, or worked in a broking environment? Do you have experience around managing stakeholders at all levels, providing a quality service?
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly driven, proactive, and inquisitive Assistant Compliance Manager to join our Compliance Team within PIB IB Speciality. This hybrid role allows a good level of flexibility, being able to work from home a couple days a week and can be based in either Retford, Derby or Leicester. You will be confident, personable, and efficient in dealing with multiple stakeholders, establishing, and maintaining positive working relationships with the ability to challenge as and when required.
You will be the point of reference for compliance, procedures, group policies around insurance broking and claims. You will be the ‘go-to person’ for our training system (Athena), running CPD reports and providing these to three branches along with mandatory learning modules. You will liaise with Central Risk & Compliance and the Information Security teams, helping to close breaches and carry out investigations to identify breaches have been acted on.
This position gives great opportunities for development within PIB Group. Supporting the Compliance Manager, you will deliver on various compliance duties to the wider PIB Insurance Brokers, focusing on errors and omissions, organising training (running staff training sessions in conjunction with L&D, monitoring their adherence to procedures), assessing competency, investigating, and logging complaints, coupled with assisting on MI reporting. You will work closely with the file audit team and conduct reports on file reviews. You will flag to hiring managers where focus is needed on individuals for personal development, working closely with them to ensure FCA regulations, guidelines and group procedures are being followed. You will help implement changes in Group policies and business processes, ensuring training is cascaded accordingly.
Location: This role can be based in either Retford (DN22 7SW), Derby (DE21 6BF) or Leicester (LE19 1SY). All locations are easily accessible by car, with parking facilities either onsite or 5 minutes away from the office. There are good train and bus links.
Responsibilities:
You will handle complaints around service and provision of insurances, recognising complaints and carrying out investigations,
You will manage communication between PIB Insurance Brokers and FOS with the assistance of Group Risk and Compliance including carrying out review of outcomes,
You will be helping staff to recognise errors and omissions, reporting these using the Group system (xCenta), liaising with stakeholders to produce reports and updates,
You will participate in divisional risk reviews including post acquisition reviews,
You will work closely with Group Risk and Assurance and the Information Security Team, supporting remedial actions, working to bridge gaps and close breaches of procedures or policies, carrying out amendments where necessary,
You will be liaising with Group Learning and Development Team, arranging staff training sessions, assisting in the assessment of their competency levels (focusing on the completion of training and assessment whilst also ensuring quality levels are achieved),
You will assist with the implementation of business led processes & procedures, putting these in place,
You will carry out any other ad hoc duties as and when required,
Experience:
You will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a commercial insurance environment,
You will have good understanding of the insurance industry and FCA regulations,
You will be able to manage stakeholders at all levels, having a personable approach, and ability to build excellent rapport as well as providing a quality service,
You will be able to multi-task, with excellent levels of organisation and time management skills, and display a high level of attention to detail,
You will either be Cert CII qualified, working towards or hold an equivalent qualification, (desirable),
You will have some experience in producing reports,
You will be fully proficient in MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams),
You have highly developed communication skills (both verbal and written),
