Asset Manager (Avionics Equipment)

Job Description

The role of the Asset Manager (Team Lead) is to manage and supervise a small team responsible for Physical Logistics, Maintenance Planning, and Inventory Management activities, and determine repair decisions in order to achieve the required output. This person will work closely with the Service Delivery Engineer and Logistics Analysis & Demand Management to plan and control the output of all asset management activities, and hold responsibility as the Team Leader for the Supply Chain & Physical Logistics team.

Key Responsibility Areas

The Asset Manager (Team Lead) will be responsible to the Availability & Performance Manager for:

* Managing workload, identifying priorities and allocating tasks for the Inventory Planning/Physical Logistics team
* Ensure customer equipment requests are satisfied to meet KPIs.
* Monitoring and recording of asset availability data in support of contractually defined KPI metrics
* Monitor and record equipment stock levels, locations, and issuing of equipment.
* Analysis of in-service derived data to provide in-depth KPI reporting and recommendations

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

Essential:

* Degree-level qualifications in a related discipline, or equivalent experience and knowledge
* Adaptable and innovative – open to new ideas and skilled to lead change initiatives.
* Experience of multi-functional team management with skills to supervise, coach, train and motivate teams.
* Experience of delivering platform or equipment level logistics support
* Proven Management experience.

Desirable:

* Experience of multi-company collaborations or partnered working environments.
* Experience of delivering an avionic support service in a Defence environment
* An understanding of Typhoon maintenance and technical support
* Experience of Typhoon avionic equipment
* Experience of MoD and or commercial Logistic Management Information Systems.

Intrinsic Factors

* This is a customer site based role where the primary location is a fully operational RAF base.
* Some short-duration UK and European travel with overnight stays may be required.
* Enthusiastic and self-motivated with a strong ability to foster and develop effective working relationships with both external and internal stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
* Flexibility with regards working hours is essential as occasional evening and weekend working may be required to support business needs.
* Must be PC literate and familiar with MS Office suite.
