Area Manager

Salary: £31,800 per year

I am currently working with a long established professional cleaning company who specialise in retail, industrial, public sector and commercial complex cleaning across the UK and Southern Ireland. Currently they have a turnover of circa £7m. The client pride themselves on their ability to retain business and their staff, this is reflected in their desire for the Area Manager to be in the field for no more than 40 hours a week and the importance they place on visits to operatives to ensure they feel a valued part of the team. 

The Area Manager will manage a portfolio that consists of circa 30 sites. Two of which are large sites (one distribution centre and one educational establishment) with approximately 200/250 hours each per week with a Site Supervisor at each. The rest of the portfolio consists of a variety of sites including retail outlet and an art gallery. There are a approximately 3000-3200 hours per four weeks. The portfolio has sites in the South Midlands, North Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Ideally candidates for this role will live in the Coventry/Rugby/Northampton area. The Area Manager will be required to undertake the following:

• Visit sites 
• Liaise with client management and staff
• Employ and train cleaning staff
• Complete quality standard audits
• Complete wage sheets (four weekly basis)
• Manage contracts in portfolio on a day to day basis
• Address any issues that may arise / problem solving to ensure smooth running of contracts.
• It would be useful if candidates have previous contact management experience of school, warehouse and retail cleaning contract management, but this is not essential

Area Manager the Candidate:

Applicants should be well organised, with good time management skills, be prepared to travel and be flexible to suit business needs on a day to day basis and be able to work a 40 hour week. Previous cleaning Area Manager experience preferred however training could be provided to the right candidate willing to learn and give 110%.
