World class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit an Aerodynamics Tool Developer.

The contract is initially for 6 months (ongoing thereafter). Hourly rate – £54ph

Aerodynamics Tool Developer Job Description:

Development of Analysis Tools for Geometry Handling and Interfacing of Guided Weapon Airframes

The candidate will be accountable to both the APL (Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Lethality) Proximity Manager and Aerodynamics Technical Expert.

The candidate will work as part of a small team responsible for the implementation of various guided weapon airframe geometry handling techniques. These techniques, under the guidance of the Aerodynamics Expert, will be implemented into a MATLAB environment, supported by HTML documentation. The tools developed will also be evolved in such a way as to be compatible with the aerodynamic analysis tools already in existence.

The mathematical techniques involved in geometry handling and manipulation are complex. The challenge will be to efficiently and effectively program these techniques into the MATLAB environment. Foresight will also be required to ensure that the tools developed will be compatible with the existing aerodynamic tools.

Qualifications & Experience required:

• In-depth knowledge of mathematics, the MATLAB programming environment and JAVA programming techniques. Experience of producing documentation using HTML.
• In view of timescales involved, current SC clearance is essential.
