Accounts & Audit Manager / Partner Designate

We are currently working with a North London & Hertfordshire based Chartered Accountants who are looking to recruit a commercially minded Accounts & Audit Manager / Partner Designate. You must be comfortable speaking to clients about commercial aspects of their business as well as accounting, for example you will may need to give advice on areas such as on raising finance, share selling, outsourcing and debt factoring (to mention but-a-few). This will involve working closely with a range of clients who vary in size, target clients range between £5m & £20m, however some client’s turnovers exceed £60m. These clients may range from manufacturing businesses, to multi-site fashion chains and property companies with assets of up to £100m.

Meeting and advising MD’s, FD’s and bank managers is very much part of the role, so therefore you must consider yourself “credible and knowledgeable”. Reporting to the four partners you should have an appetite for success and an ambition to make partner within 4-5 years. You will ideally have some knowledge of (or wanting to learn of) the following:

• Strong at tax planning and tax mitigation
• Strong technical skills in accounts & audit.
• Proven management experience within a small to medium sized firm
• A good strong work ethic
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills with clients
• management of audits – specialist audit knowledge
• Exposure to the preparation of group accounts
• Good knowledge of Companies Act procedures in particular relative to changes to a company’s share capital and associated resolutions
• Other employee share schemes such as EMI (Enterprise Management Incentives) and ESS (Employee Shareholders)
• Good general taxation skills covering
• Corporate and personal taxes
• Employment taxes knowledge and in particular the expenses and benefits regime
• Client management skills.

We are quite open on what salary we may recruit at hence the £60,000 – £84,000range given, this is negotiable dependent upon the candidate’s experience and background.
