Accountant / Bookkeeper

Regional accountancy practice seek experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper to prepare accounts for a portfolio of new and existing clients. You will be preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly company accounts (both statutory accounts and management accounts).

My client, a local accountancy practice, is seeking an experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper to prepare accounts for a portfolio of new and existing clients. You will be preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly company accounts (both statutory accounts and management accounts) together with VAT returns and some company tax returns.

Main duties;

• Prepare and produce accounts for sole traders, partnerships & limited companies

• Prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly management account for clients

• Resolving queries with clients

• Maintain regular contact with clients

• Prepare and submit VAT returns

• Assist in preparing personal tax returns

• Assisting in developing company policies and procedures

• Other ad hoc and office administrative tasks as required.

What we’re looking for;

• Current or previous experience gained within an accountancy practice

• AAT qualified, ACCA part qualified or qualified by experience

• Experience preparing a full set of accounts from client records

• A good working knowledge of Ms Office packages

• Sage experience is beneficial but not essential  

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with clients and HMRC

• The ability to self manage, organise workload, work quickly and accurately to meet regular deadlines

• A flexible and willing approach and be comfortable working within a small team

• A willingness and ability to travel to different clients premises, on occasion.
