Accountant

Our client, a telecoms company based near Wilmslow, is looking for an Accountant to join their finance team.

Your role will be to prepare monthly divisional P&L, balance sheet and cashflow statements, assist in drafting statutory accounts and liaison with auditors and help out with corporation tax reporting and compliance.

It is essential that you have acquisition experience and you need to be ACA or ACCA Qualified. A high level of detail, strong technical knowledge and analytical skills will also help you in this role.

Main duties to include:

– Account management of cases
– Prepare monthly divisional P&L, balance sheet and cashflow statements including posting of journals into Sage financial system including the reconciliation of balance sheets
– External reporting – assist in drafting statutory accounts and liaison with auditors
– Quarterly VAT reporting
– Assist with corporation tax reporting and compliance
– Deal with acquisitions, budgeting and monitoring – cost reporting to monitor and investigate divisional performance against budget and monitor performance of acquisitions

We are looking for:

– ACA or ACCA Qualified
– Acquisition experience
– Strong technical knowledge – preferably including acquisition accounting
– Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel)
– High attention to detail and methodical approach
– Solid analytical skills
– Ability to present financial information clearly

In return you can expect:

– Salary: £42,000 – £48,000
– Attractive performance based bonus
– Hours: 37½ hours per week, Monday to Friday
– Holidays: 24 days plus bank holidays. Increased upon anniversaries
